This talk will explore the production of the dinners of the London Drapers’ Company through an extraordinary document known as ‘The Dinner Book’. As well as reporting on the food choices made by the City companies, it will set corporate dining practices in a social and spatial context, arguing that dinners became particularly important to livery company leaders in the period under consideration.
